Ken Howard
A coworker once remarked that I’d have to be at least two hundred years old to have experienced all things in the stories I’ve told. Every single knowledge item and skill I have is an accumulation of what I’ve learned from the great people I’ve been exposed to in my life:
  • My parents taught me the fundamentals.
  • My wife kids have taught me how to be a decent person through understanding the most important stuff in life.
  • My grandparents taught me what a privilege it is to be an American.
  • My teachers taught me a lot of “stuff”; the good ones taught me how to figure out “stuff” on my own.
  • My current and past coworkers have taught me how to make a living.
  • Dale Carnegie taught me to how to treat people the way they like to be treated; he also taught me how to avoid sweating the small stuff.
  • Bill Cosby and Jerry Seinfeld taught me not to take life too seriously.
  • Scott Adams taught me that certain odd behaviors in the office were really frequently occurring patterns.
  • Maynard and Chuck taught me to love listening to music; My band directors taught me to love creating music.
  • Franklin W. Dixon, Michael Crichton, Clive Cussler and Steven Spielberg taught me to use my imagination.
  • The Boy Scouts taught me to love nature and the outdoors.
  • My faith taught me to trust in much bigger, more powerful things sight unseen.
